on ESPN he was interviewed about the Nebraska job.
He said : "I want to develop players...."

He was fed his talking points to endear himself to Corn Nation.Bucket list item sitting down with coach O. Develop lines. Players who want to come to NU have to want to play in NFL. Praised Mickey. Great interview.
FYI, Rhule was an OL coach for the NY Giants and the DL coach at Temple.Bucket list item sitting down with coach O. Develop lines.
LOL. I laughed and grinned from ear-to-ear when Rhule told ESPN Gameday that he'd "already spoken to Tom Osborne."He was fed his talking points to endear himself to Corn Nation.![]()

I wholeheartedly agree with you, GIJoe......BUT........we all need to keep in mind that the same emotions that are causing us to hope the program still has a place for Busch and MJ are the same ones that we admired when Frost announced to the world that he was bringing ALL of his AAC-level coaches to Lincoln with, "if they were good enough to lead UCF to a 13-0 record, they're good enough to coach at Nebraska."I truly hope he keeps MJ, and every Defensive coach that is worth their weight in salt. We may not have a great defense...yet, but Busch coached one Helluva game yesterday.

It seems to me that we've made a whole bunch of 'emotional' decisions since the heydays of Husker football. There's something to be said for cold, calculated business decisions.![]()
As mentioned in another thread MJ has an axe to grind with Rhule about firing Joe Brady at Carolina (Brady and MJ were together at LSU for their MNC - they are tight). He's goneI truly hope he keeps MJ, and every Defensive coach that is worth their weight in salt. We may not have a great defense...yet, but Busch coached one Helluva game yesterday.
Well if he choses a personal grudge over being at Nebraska then that's his choice. As mentioned in another thread MJ has an axe to grind with Rhule about firing Joe Brady at Carolina (Brady and MJ were together at LSU for their MNC - they are tight). He's gone
MJ says he's a professional who understands the business. At the time he was fired, Brady's offense was 24th in the league in points per game and 28th in the league in yards per game. So, its not like his hot seat should've been a shocker. When a friend is fired, you're only going to get his side of the story. As mentioned in another thread MJ has an axe to grind with Rhule about firing Joe Brady at Carolina (Brady and MJ were together at LSU for their MNC - they are tight).
