Nebraska LB Javin Wright plans to return in 2025 for a seventh year

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Wright will be the first-ever known seventh-year player in NU program history. He arrived in Lincoln for the 2019 season, and his recruiting process dates back to Scott Frost’s first season in 2018.

Wright redshirted the 2019 season and played in only two games in 2020 and 2021 before seeing time in 32 games over the last three seasons.

For Wright to return for a seventh year, he had to prove he missed two full seasons due to medical reasons. Wright has battled a blood clot issue since the beginning of this time at Nebraska and even was forced to miss the first four games of 2024 before playing 230 snaps over the final nine games.

Saw this on MSN news feed. Glad to see the explanation as I was scratching my head trying to figure out how we could have a seventh year player.

Back in the HuskerPedia days, there was a poster by the name of 5th Year Freshman (always good for a laugh) but 7th Year Starter tops that moniker all to heck and back. LOL!

Hope Wright stays healthy for the 2025 season.

GO BIG RED!!!

Great news. The LB core has serious potential to be very good next season with McGahee, Shavers, Wright all returning and the transfers from Georgia Southern and Oklahoma coming in.

I think Javin was in my chemistry class in 1981.

I was wondering if DeShone Singleton would try again to get another year since one of his years was at a Junior College and with the new change thanks to the Vandy QB he should be able to.

What do you suppose his academic status is? Has he graduated? Does he have multiple degrees? I am genuinely curious. I truly hope that when he does finally complete his eligibility, he will have career options that will benefit from his education at DONU.

He only has 7 more classes left to go.

LOL, I hope that is a joke or snark. I'm assuming that he graduated at least a year ago.

Sheesh, I did most of my undergrad (all but my freshman year) night school while working full time and still received my degree in 5 years.
