It’s Time to sit some players

[LinvingProog]

It's not just the Blackshirts. They gave the Offense the ball at the 3 and they ended up only getting a FG. They had the ball in plus territory numerous times and the O let them down. 2 blocked punts and so on. That's on the Offense.

I agree with you. It isn't just the defense. The offense puts them into horrible down and distance positions all of the time. Turnovers force them back on the field with no rest and it wears on a defense. I'm just damned frustrated as a fan who cares. I don't know the answers.

I hope this week that Frost will invite Tom Osborne to the office for a chat.

[Jarhead Husker]

I had hoped we would see some more of the young guys today. Does anyone know if Noah Vedral was able to play today, or was he too injured to get in the game?

Him and Charlie Mac

And Frost will start the same guys next week and apologize again for hurting their tender feelings.

we’ve had crappy coaches but this time we got the hometown hero. Who sucks just like the rest of them.

Like me, you are a fan who's frustrated as hell. But logically it is too soon to start firing coaches or the head coach. There is something (or some things) wrong and Scott needs to figure it out soon. I was not angry after the OSU rout, because I know we aren't in a league with OSU yet, just in talent. Minnesota was kind of a head scratcher because, while they are a decent team, the Huskers shouldn't have been steam rolled by them. I thought maybe Martinez not playing was the issue. Last week the same. This week, I give the hell up.

agree innmc. This game should have been 28-0 or 28-7 second Q the way the D was playing and the O refused to put them away. With 5 minutes left before halftime I made the comment in the chat box with exasperation and disbelief it wouldn't surprise me if Purdue went down and took the lead at halftime and I'll be damned if they didn't do exactly that. This game in many ways was more frustrating than Minnesota. This was an awful Purdue team depleted by injury that still found a way to whup the Huskers arse. Truly sickening.

How in God’s name does Martinez look so soft? His running is average, but his physical appearance is pathetic. Has he ever lifted a weight?

I think he is plenty athletic enough. He has just lost a step of quickness, and the problems are between his ears. I watched part of the Nebraska vs OSU game from last year, and I can't believe the difference. I mean, WTH happened to him this year?

He looks like a marshmallow

He looks like a marshmallow

I disagree, I think he looks fine, and he has the frame to play QB just fine. His head is the issue, not his physique.....JMO though

If the players do any more sitting, these games could get really ugly.

[smallz243]

If these games get any more ugly, do we get our best freshmen transferring at the end of the season?

Entirely likely, if things don't change.

We keep hearing that the young guys will play, but:

Rahmir has appeared in 3 games, his last two he played a total of 3 plays no touches

Hickman appears on offense today, his second game, targeted on some kind of ill fated screen attempt and then never seen again (maybe I just missed it)

NPG 3 games, special teams mostly

Myles Farmer, see NPG

D Chase 3 games, 1 catch

J Green, one game

How about the OL or DL that we are banking the future on? It would be nice to see them get some more action....
