Is it too late for Trev to change his mind?

We will probably never know exactly what happened, but clearly Frost had just enough people in his corner to force a decision that flies in the face of all logic. Im guessing between Trev, Osborne, and a major booster, that was enough to keep him.

Trev isn’t going back on his decision. Frost isn’t going to honorably step down either. We will get another season of this monstrosity to appease the emotional bleeding hearts.

On a personal level, I will never stop rooting for Nebraska athletics. Ever. I don’t care how dark it gets. That being said, I’m not renewing my tickets and HAF isn’t getting a check next. year. It’s small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. But if the athletic department doesn’t care enough why should I?

I don’t know enough about booster politics. I doubt Dr Osborne would throw his weight into any decision at this point. I suspect is was a combination of financial considerations and not wanting to rend the fan base in two a la Solich. Better to have us walking out together than at each other’s throats. Another year of Frosted Brainfarts should keep us unified behind the next guy

For every person who doesnt renew their season tickets next year there is someone who wants them. So you wont be hurting the money train.
And you all seem so sure that Frost wont turn it around next year. What if he does? Will you want your tickets back?
Eh do what you think is right for you. I am going to buy season tickets next year for the first time. I wont be able to go to every game but I can sell them to someone who wants to go or give them to someone who cant afford to go. I will go to as many games as I can though as I love being in Memorial Stadium rooting on my team.
Go Big Red!!!!

It is what it is. The renegotiated contract was done when it was done in the event we lost our last two games and finished the season on a six-game losing streak.
Also, it could have been done when it was done during the Bye week and the coaches were out the door recruiting. They wanted to be able to tell recruits they were going to be their coach.

Dear God, I hope so.

Though in all honesty, I would prefer that Frost turns things around. I don't see that happening, but that is still my preference. It's my personal hell and one that I suspect a lot of fans are experiencing!

yeeeaah.. can't change his mind now. that would be worse than hanging onto him for another possible similar season next year. we can't get much worse than where we are now and going back on the agreement would ensure that the coaching search would only produce a bunch of coaches that are just looking for some experience to move on or those that are wanting that third chance after being fired twice from whatever other job, as those wanting that second chance probably wouldn't even touch our team.

Maybe you will get my seats. Enjoy.

As far as Frost turning it around, I’m a big believer in trends. The way we tended the past four years under Frost, I don’t see anything to believe that Frost will somehow turn this program around. However, in the event that you are correct and he does, I will be extremely happy. I will purchase season tickets again and start donating to the Husker Athletic Fund again. The best thing that could happen to Nebraska football would be for Frost to start piling up wins. My ego, although large, isn’t large enough where I wouldn’t be happy to admit I was wrong. All I want is Nebraska to win and put a product on the field that Nebraskans can be proud of. That’s all I ever wanted.

The product isn't bad and I can see progress. Just not in the wins... yet. 77% of the time they are fine... Just fine. 10% of the game they are horrible and the remainder are great!

Keep in mind that Frost had the Powers-that-Be in his corner when Bill Moos gave us all an abrupt 'good-bye' before the start of the season.

When the Athletic Director is gone after opining that this should be an eight-win season for the football program (and by rights, SHOULD have been), it told me all I needed to know about who was running the show -- and it sure wasn't the AD.

And if an AD of Bill Moos' stature wasn't in charge before, do you really believe a new AD is in charge now?

The problem is that 10% of the game costs them the win and no one seems capable of getting that fixed. It's inconceivable to me that we lost that many games and by less than 7 points. That is a significant problem to fix.

Just keep in mind I couldn't even give my season tickets away for most of the games including the Ohio State game. So unless they start the year off hot next year you may not be able to give them away.

Maybe you just didnt check the right spots. There were always looking for tickets here in my area.

Hold on a minute...let's see, 77, carry the two, subtract the number you started with, then multiply, divide the remainder...Yep....three words...

You are correct sir!

I fear this is the future under Frost. It will be costly if he fails (again) next season.

I may not have checked everywhere, but I wasn't the only who couldn't give their tickets away. There were many who I knew that couldn't either. Heck I usually see scalpers trying to by and sell tickets. I saw 2 the past 2 games. That's it. And that was for the Iowa game obnly. The Ohio State game, I didn't see a single scalper. In my little section of the stadium has been pretty devoid of fans for the last few games. Against Iowa I would say 20 seats unfilled and others around me Iowa fans bought those tickets. Believe me when I say if this futility keeps up, the Athletic Dept isn't going to be able keep the sell out streak going. And the waiting list is getting fewer and fewer. I know you want to believe that all those who want to drop their season tickets that there are that many more who want to buy them simply isn't true.

Honestly, the sell out streak is the last of my concerns. It was a source of pride at one time but most recognize that local businesses and so forth have kept that streak alive so it's kind of lost its meaning.

About the only reason people care about it now is because it's the only positive record we have. I know we set some records this year but they weren't good so I'm not dwelling on them. Just hoping upon hope that Trev made the right move and that Scott will get the program moving in the right direction in 2022.
