I don't do a lot of podcasters and I don't see him all the time. But Jon's "in the can" podcasts are generally right on the money and would have me laughing my a@@ off it they weren't sadly true.

Matt Rhule is damn lucky this wasn't a blowout. I was surprised that UCLA opted for a field goal on their first drive, when their long march down the field stalled in a 4th & 1. Two drives later, when the Bruins again had another 4th & 1, I was shocked they didn't go for it. It is fair to say that UCLA left eight points on the field.

Meanwhile - and this is insane - all three of Nebraska's scoring drives were greatly benefited by unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on Bruin defenders. Does Nebraska score more than three or seven points if the visitors did not gift wrap multiple second chances?

You know what? I'd rather not consider that. Losing 27-20 to a 2-5 team is bad, but a 35-3 home blowout would have been catastrophic.

Each of Nebraska's final three drives - when Nebraska desperately needed points as quickly as possible - started with a UCLA punt. In the olden days, a player like De'Mornay Pierson-El, DeJuan Groce, or Nate Swift would have been a threat to get Nebraska right back into the game.

In Ed Foley's system, Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda's sole purpose is to catch punts without causing damage. Maybe that philosophy should be extended to kickoffs, where for the second straight week, Nebraska started inside the 20 when doing absolutely nothing would have gotten them to the 25.

The missed extra point on Nebraska's final touchdown was largely met with a "Yeah, that seems about right" reaction from the fans who had not already left.

I went from applauding this team for a game well played against OSU to this. So don't say I'm negative all the time, because I proved otherwise.

Humiliating loss to a 2-5 team. Defense was pathetic. DR should be benched. Needed one of 5 games to get bowl eligible and they aren't going to make it,

How in the absolute fuk did a once proud program come to this? DR isn't the worst QB to play for Nebraska in the past 20 years, but he's definitely in the conversation. It could be partially influenced by a complete lack of surrounding talent and piss poor coaching, but the fact remains that his mechanics are crap. He reminds me of one those funny as hell TikToc Videos of old fat guys making fun of Patrick Mahomes.

I have lost faith in Matt Rhule. This was the game. With previous coaches it took quite a few games longer, but I'm at the exact same place I've ended up since 2003. Rhule is an idiot. Is it his choice in assistant coaches, his choice in players, his choice in the direction of this program? Probably a little of all of these things.

I told my wife that if the Huskers made a bowl game we were going. She said no way and the only good thing to come out of this is that we won't have to have that argument.

I suspect you're looking for perfection. Bench Dylan...for who? It's not him so much as it is lack of all cogs working as a machine. To include the Coordinators.

Dylan has proven when he can be himself, NU does pretty well.
