Frost gone

Trev Alberts was asked if boosters stepped up to pay the difference. He said he wouldn't go into detail. He said Nebraska is in a position financially to handle this and pay a new head coach the current market value (paraphrased). My guess is the money was in place to fire Frost since last year.
I concur wholeheartedly. TA doesn't strike me as someone who doesn't have their ducks in a row.

...something happened. It could be as simple as Frost popping his mouth off to TA and could be more serious.
So he popped his mouth off to TA.......and got rewarded with an extra 7.5 million dollars?

I was joking to the Mrs that Scott's wife Ashley probably consoled him today by saying, "Look on the bright side, Honey, you suckked so badly we're getting the full 15 million!!!!

Depends on what he said. I said that because 1620 (I think) said that he needed to win the NW game and didn't. Perhaps, once he ski'd on by that one with no repercussions, he thought he was running the entire ship and said as much to TA. TA already wanted him gone but was talked out of it, according to 1620, and that, coupled with our stellar loss yesterday was the proverbial straw that broke TA's back.

Or, more than likely, the BMD's banded together and gave TA an ultimatum, along with $7.5M and persuaded TA that it was past Frosty's expry date.

During my working career I did get the ax a couple of times, and it was difficult to deal with at the time. But if I had received $15 MILLION as a parting gift, the grieving process would have lasted about 30 seconds.

I too wanted Frost to succeed, and I really thought (cautiously) that this would be the year, until I saw the result against Northwestern, at which time I checked out. His entire time as head football coach at NU is a real head scratcher to me. The lack of team discipline on the field and the knack for grabbing defeat out of the jaws of victory is the best way to summarize his time as head football coach at NU.

Not after watching his press conference. What an extraordinarily impressive individual.
Indeed. There was one thing that really took me back while listening. When asked what he would look for in a good coach one of the things Trev said was......."I like people who hate to lose more than they enjoy winning." I had to think about that one for a minute, and figure out why that was an attribute that made for a good coach, but the more I think about it, the more I think he's on to something.

I saw bits and pieces yesterday but just took the time to relisten. Dogs were quiet so I could concentrate on what and how Trev said his piece.

Trev is beyond impressive and UNL is extremely fortunate to have him leading the helm. So glad he was hired!

Trev is Top Notch and has the programs best interest at heart. GBR TA for President
Aaaaah yes, I remember this well. This is the firing announcement stage where our Athletic Director is The Smartest Guy in the World........until he announces his choice. :)

Seriously though, I feel VERY good about Trev Alberts leading this search.
