0-6. Don't give me the freaking its about the culture, it is Riley's players, it is this or that. We played not to lose on our last drive, we had a chance to put the game away and instead of handing off to the guy getting 10 yards a carry we called a play where our QB throws a pick. Not sure what the defensive coaches are doing to earn a paycheck but they didn't earn one today. God awful.

This was all about coaching. You can’t tell me Frost is doing better than anyone else could. This was crap coaching at its best.

At the very least, Frost needs to sit his defensive coordinator down and tell him, “convince me not to fire you right now.”

It is not just this game - but ultra conservative on the last possession to set-up NW's 99 yard game tieing drive was not the right call and most of us knew it. Time to pull something out of the playbook to get a 1st down because your D can stop anything in the 4th quarter of games - all season long.

Of course we probably would have just fumbled the snap or got a holding call so why try.....

This team has had chances to win 4 of their 6 games and yes penalties and mistakes are big part of why that has not worked out. But in at least 2 games - NW in particular - coaching and offensive playcalling were a problem - directly on Frost.

The 2 team that whipped us played yesterday - I figured Michigan would work Wiskly in Ann Arbor - and was correct. Good team. Great defense. tOSU game could be pretty interesting. Penn State sucks balls.

Ozigbo in the wildcat might have been a call for 4th and inches... I imagine that they dont practice under center for the QB taking the snap that may have been why they did not go for it, the QB sneak was the call... If we can't get 5 inches at that point we dont deserve to win.

Call time out tell the team to bow up and Tanner Farmer to put the squat rack to work and take victory... Let's go home with a win for DONU...

There were a number of plays with this conclusion...If we can't....we don't deserve to win. Well apparently, the Huskers didn't "deserve" to win.

99 yards, no timeouts, <2 minutes stands out to me. $h!+ happens.

The only issue I had with the coaching yesterday was the ultra conservative play calling at games end to close things out, and even that I can see the rationale behind Frost's decision making. This team has found some creative ways to lose games this year, and I think he was hoping he could just hunker down at the end and sneak out with a W.

It didn't work out. But I'm not going to make the suggestion that there are 50 other coaches the Huskers should have taken before hiring Frost this year, as someone did earlier on the board (you know who you are). That is the epitome of hyperbole (For correct pronunciation google Brian Regan, comedian).

For the record, I meant there are 50 other coaches who would be doing a better job with this team right now. And I'm right. They might not be building for what waaaaaaasy off in the distance is a championship program that we still think could be out there, but they wouldn't be 0-6.

Honestly Ohio you don't have to defend your opinion with me. You and I are on the same side more often than not. But I did roll my eyes at that comment. 50? really? Is Mike Riley in that group? Lane Kiffin? umm... Dennis Franchione? Earlier you said Ohio State and Bama did it the right way...they went out and got proven winners. Newsflash...there are not 50 Urban's and Saban's to choose from. And Scott Frost's resume, as short as it is, tells me he is a proven winner. Pump the brakes a little Ohio. That's all I'm saying.

As irritated as I was by the last 5 minutes of regulation plan and overtime yesterday, I'm also convinced that Scott Frost is still the right guy for the job. He's got a track record as a proven winner, regardless of what coaching "hat" he's wearing.

Having said that, he needs to pull up his big boy pants and take responsibility as a Head Coach should. I cannot imagine TO ever saying "I don't call the defense". TO knew that he was responsible for all facets of the game and all coaches and players.

He also needs to sit several of his coaches down and have a "come to Jesus" talk with them. I don't care what kind of talent Mike Riley left us, some of those players can certainly play better than they currently are. That is a reflection of their coaching as the penalties are to a certain extent.

I do think that next season will be much better but I also see no reason for this team to be 0-6 right now. It's a combination of players and coaching "glitches" for lack of a better word.

Roger that. I was over the top. Apologies to everyone

Maybe it was a message to his defensive coaches. Not sure I would have said it publicly. But even at UCF, the defense wasn't the strength of that team. Having said that, let's say that Nebraska had eked out a win against Colorado, Troy and Northwestern (all possible), would that indicate that they are a much better football team? Sure, we'd be 3-3 but we still wouldn't be a really good football team. In fact, it might give us a false sense about the state of the program. Right now, this team needs to avoid developing a losing attitude and anyone who has coached or played a sport knows that winning is an attitude. So right now, as a fan, that is my biggest fear, that the players start thinking they cannot win.

I remember right after Tom Osborne won his first national championship he was a bit disappointed that the victory wasn't as personally rewarding as the process the program went through to get there. I have to believe Scott Frost is the same way. When the wins start coming and eventually playing for championships, the process will be more rewarding than reaching the goal. We fans are entitled to be disappointed because we don't really get to see the process this team is going through. It is possible that had Riley been retained another year, using his same offense and defense, that we would have a few wins. But I doubt seriously Nebraska would have been a better team.

For those of you calling for some changes in the coaching staff: don't hold your breath. It's not happening this year, or probably even next year. At least, it won't be forced from the University; someone like Troy Walters could leave for a head gig, but Frost isn't getting rid of anyone.
