What happened with our star transfer Mathis? Big 12 not so tough. Northwestern has a good TEAM this year

The National press makes fun of him weekly. He says stupid stuff constantly. It would be best for NU if he resigns after the season. The coaching staff has some candidates for his replacement and might keep the recruits that have verbally committed from leaving.

He won't be Votary, but he should be. He's 10-26 as head coach at Nebraska. We've seen him fumble and bumble his way to losing any number of close games. Wanting him fired now is anything BUT reflexive.

Fair enuf. But for most, imo, it's a knee-jerk.

We just signed an amended contract, brought in a raft of new coaches. Their fams moved, too, and school may have just started.

The season just started. Very Badly, I agree.

But it may finish well. Stranger things have happened.

So, if you wanna fire the guy now, it makes sense from an emotional perspective. Less so after some consideration.

Again, imo

. I can't believe more people on here aren't
just going crazy about that onside kick.
....
But that onside kick... NO WAY that can be tolerated. And if Frost got an extension in October,
then Trev needs fired too.

It's because we're fully accustomed to those "wth" head scratching calls by now.. They've become normal and even expected to a degree..by us fans and the opposing teams.

You could also argue that Alberts should be let go. He should have made the tough decision last year and took an easy out.

He brought back two generationally bad coaches of our two most important sports. If they both tank, I question his ability to make decisions at this level.

its just one game everyone stay positive.
It's OK. People got to express their feelings.

I'm good with letting things play out and trying to stay positive and optimistic this year. But, it's very difficult to do and for those who are calling for Frost's head -- that's ok for them to do as well.

Absolutely nothing will happen until Oct. 1st so I'm just chilling my heels until that magic date happens. They may start winning; in which case, this is a moot point. If they don't start winning, I don't see how Frost can be retained. But, he's got 4 games to make his point. I'm zipping it until I see what those 4 weeks bring us.

Shouldn't have been down to one stupid decision in this one. NW isnt going to be competing for a championship this year. Miss Bo.

If we aren't arent 3-2 after the Indiana game on October 1st (the day his buyout is cut in half) then he'll be canned. 2-3 will not save his job.
We should certainly be at least 3-2. But I don't view our 2 cupcake games as cupcakes because, well just because. Bottom line is, if your theory is correct, we have to beat North Dakota, Georgia Southern and either Oklahoma or Indiana. I don't get a warm fuzzy about beating OU. The other 3 I certainly won't bet the farm on victories. They should be victories but only time will tell.

Frost needs to get things rolling in the right direction by beating North Dakota. Focus on only North Dakota. Get that game under the team's belt and build on it by beating Georgia Southern. Then, if OU has a down Saturday, you swoop in and beat the Sooners. At that point, we would be a very respectable 3-1. The team should have a bit of a swagger which would hopefully show up on the field and result in another victory, this time against Indiana.

Once you get through those 4 games, we can all have realistic expectations for the season and Frost's tenure as HC of DONU.

We have to destory both North Dakota and Georgia Southern. Struggling to beat them doesn't count. If he loses to either one of them he'll be done IMO regradless of what our record is at that point.

When I was meaning 3-2 that's beating ND, GS, and Indiana. Or ND, GS, or OU. However 3-2 and beating OU, Indiana, and either ND or GS will not save his job. It may extend it another week after Indiana to see what happens, but he may also be fired. With the talent we have on this team and coaching staff we have they should never lose to teams like ND or GS. You just can't.

If he's 2-3 or worse after October 1st he's gone the next day. Even if one of those wins is against OU. 3-2 depends on who we lose too as to whether he'd be gone Oct 2nd. I really don't want another coaching change but if he isn't the answer then he isn't the answer and we need to move on once his buyout drops.
