Fan favorite "Bookie" in the transfer portal

Saw him play at Oklahoma and he is a punk. Don't recall the situation but he was kicked out of the game for unsportsmanlike conduct. And it wasn't an aggressive accidental targeting call. I'll see if I can find video. Pass.

found it. What a jerk.
He choose to go after a potential blocker instead of gaining an angle, and by doing so, he over extended himself aggressively doing it, which not only took him out of the game, but also assured the qb to get the first down.
Dont care for stupid

Funny thing is 90% of the time on these targeting calls and ejections I am defending the player with "C'mon man, it's football! It was a bang bang play!" This was a 10 percenter. This is the kind of crap the Huskers have been doing for years now...3rd and 19, QB is sacked, and this crap is happening away from the play...FIRST DOWN! Like you said, we don't need this kind of stupid on the team.

Part of me wants to say we don't need these bone head plays.....then the other part says because we have enough of these targeting plays already in the secondary.

Not like that bro, he gave up the play to stop a first down, so he could cheap shot a wr , who probably has been taking him to school ( looking at the score )

Yeah, what a jerk.

But just to give Johnny a hard time, put Bookie in Husker red and make the opponent Wisconsin and we'd view the exact, same play as a "BS modern-day, pamsy-wamsy" call the same way we did when Kenny Bell made the same hit.
The force was comparable, but the circumstance wasn’t. KB was blocking for a ball carrier when he leveled that guy. Bookie was on D and hit the RB while the QB scrambled.

Not true Dr F. As I stated shortly after the vid was posted, that was a 10 percenter. I say that on a lot of targeting calls my friend, not this one. This was bush league.

Yikes! I AGREE with you then add, "But just want to give Johnny a hard time..." and dammit, I STILL get dogpiled!!!!

All this Old Schooler is sayin' is that 'once upon a time' BOTH HITS would have brought head-shaking chuckles and rounds of high-fives by their respective fan bases.

Both were nasty in different ways. Bookie's was targeting but at least he and his opponent made eye contact before the hit whereas Kenny nailed the Wisconsin defender when he wasn't looking.

BULL. Kenny Bell did not launch himself at the defender and was blocking not just taking a shot at someone. Totally different circumstances. And Bell hit his guy in the shoulder not in the head

Hey, Huskergod84, I was not doing a 'whaddabout?' with Kenny Bell. I LOVE THAT PLAY!!!! (it's right up there on my favorite hits list with John Ruud's hit on OU's Kelly Phelps.) I will go to my grave thinking the block that Kenny made that night was NOT a penalty.

This Old Schooler was simply making the point that 'back-in-the-day,' both plays would have been considered 'hard-nosed, hide-the-women-and-children, slobberknocker' football.

The difference Doc, is KB blocked a guy trying to make a play on the ball carrier and Bookie took a cheap shot instead of making a play on the ball carrier

No correlation at all IMHO
