Does Bo still want to be here?

#3 is an internet myth fostered by message boards. The players in no way view the fans as enemies nor despise them. Do they have a problem with some of the fan base? I would hope so.

If Coach Pellini can get #Huskers to be B1G Champs within his contract period, he can retire here.

I think they do have a problem with some of the fan base. I think it started as just a small group, but listening to quotes from Beck, Bo, and from what Damon Benning is saying on BROR, it has widened into a more widespread negative attitude against the fans. Benning claims he is basing his views on conversations with the players and being around the team, and I know it is just one man's conclusion, but he seems to know what he is talking about.

He is extremely well paid to put up with the BS. And frankly, the majority of the BS comes from what we see from the Huskers during games.

It's still "bs" and everyone has his/her limits with too much. You make it sound like $$ covers everythng. That's dead wrong!

GBR!!!

Very simple solution to our problem for me. He makes $3M a year to to produce a winner, or show progress in a set amount of time. Has the Nebraska Football team "stock" shown success or ROI in his 6 years that quantify his pay? This is a business when all said and done - and he gets paid to run a business (producing fine quality men and encouraging academics is awesome but in the end is just table steaks). I believe he has not fulfilled what is expected and need to move on.

If you're a head coach at a major university, part of your job is dealing with that BS. If Bo wants to be a HC, he'll need to deal with it because its present at every university in the country.

So yea, Bo is paid pretty handsomely and a big part of that is being able to deal with the media and other pressures. If he can't handle it, and can't coach well enough to make up the difference, than he probably shouldn't be a head coach.

I know exactly why and she's 100% right.

Hey please delete some of your private messages so I can send you one...I am curious.

Within an hour of the end of the Iowa game, Bo Pelini told Greg Sharpe that he wasn't doing the TV show because he wasn't going to be the coach at Nebraska when the programe aired (Sunday). That is an indisputable fact.

So, did Bo truly coach against Iowa with the belief that his career at Nebraska was over if he lost? If so, the communication gap between our AD and our head football coach has to be the worst in the country. Our HC thinks he's fired and our AD is preparing a statement of full support? WTH?

You know it isn't a myth. The "us against the world--including our own fans" has been talked about by Bo, Beck, and mentioned by various players and reported by Damon Benning who, near as I can discern, has a very level-headed approach when talking about the team.

It appears Bo thought he was finished. He certainly acted that way, and the accidentally overheard Sharpe-Taylor conversation confirms his indifference. He didn't even want to record his TV show.

Bo is not the kind of guy who would quit just because the job is unpleasant. But I'll bet he would have been all too happy to deposit that lump sum payment and then draw a nice salary as an NFL assistant. As he thought that was happening, he allowed himself the luxury of setting a few people straight.

I am REALLY TIRED of his repeated, embarrassing outbursts. Before you even consider all the problems on the field, his role as the alleged CEO of this operation is far below what Nebraska deserves. But it looks like we better brace for more days like Friday.

Unless you have some insider info you have no idea that BO thought he was fired as indisputable fact. Bo may have told Greg that and maybe he didn't. Greg watching what has just unfolded may have thought (along with Steve Taylor) no way BO still coaches and no way he does his show.

Well that's what happens when you don't know what the AD is thinking.

Respectfully, Bo did say he wasn't doing the TV show because he wasn't going to be the head coach when it aired. Go back and listen to Greg Sharpe's exact words. It was a first person account of what Bo said directly to him. Sharpe then stated that Matt D. was doing the show in Bo's place. Everything else Sharpe discussed with Steve Taylor was guesswork.

I have no doubt that Bo regrets that initial reaction, and FWIW, I support Bo as head coach. My only point was that the AD and head coach weren't on the same page (immediately after the game) regarding Bo's future at Nebraska.

Well- I've no reason to doubt Sharpe (don't really care) but it's properly said "Bo allegedly said..."

Yes Bo wants to be here.I would be sick of the B.S. too.
Bo can open up, try opening the practices. The speculation and gossip occurs because BO is so secretive. Once again, its on Bo to make the correction, not the fans.

Yeah I don't know why Bo is so reluctant to opening up practices.

It's not like if he opens up a practice, someone is trying to spy on his team anyway.

He's trying to keep it a secret that they don't practice special teams

Just for clarification (not that it really matters). Here is the exact quote as transcribed and printed by the OWH:

Sharpe: "Matt’s doing the TV show. Bo says, ‘If I’m not the head coach any longer, why would I do a TV show that airs in two days?"

That is just as easily seen as Bo speculating, too, wondering what the outcome might be . . . Not that it matters.

Ive been coaching and teaching in California for 19 years. I talk to our schools athletic director and get feedback all the time. He often can be found around the athletes on the field, in the lockerroom, around the school. We often eat lunch together, go over details, he asks for input, I ask for input. I've never heard or seen it any other way. It must work a whole lot different at Nebraska for the head football coach to think he is fired at the end of the football season when he is actually not fired. Their must be some communication gaps (okay, Grand Canyon size craters) they need to iron out.
