Dana gone?

Not enough! It’s more than just the offense!! And Dannen needs to pull Rhule aside and tell him to spend more time coaching than he does because he’s so damn busy bitching at the refs after every single play! And maybe throw analytics out when you don’t have a reliable FG kicker by going for 2 because analytics say to, because those same analytics would say don’t go for 2 if you don’t have a reliable FG kicker!!

This really changes nothing for me. Rhule hired Satterfield who sucked and kept him for most of two years and then hired Holgerson (a move I thought was right at the time) and he was good for about 3 games but anytime we played anyone decent he sucked. And now we are supposed to expect him to hire the right one this time? Sorry but Rhule has burned his bridge with me. Not a fan anymore.

I'm in the scorched earth group I think. I've pretty much lost faith with Rhule so I'm good with taking that flame thrower, starting at the top (Rhule) and making a clean break. Then moving on down the line. Fire 'em all, though I'm sure we can keep a couple of them. But Rhule definitely needs to go. Before the game, I was hoping he'd get it together but that game was too much. Did I hear that there is a For Sale sign up in his yard now? (old HuskerPedia joke).

I'll keep watching like I always have, good or bad. The thing I don't want to lose sight of is this is about the players, not about a bunch of old "toots" (to deprive the site of its satisfaction of changing my word) sitting in front of the TV, or even in the stands. If Rhule and everyone else thinks the fans deserve better, then what in h*ll do these kids deserve? I may have given up on this "team" but I'll never give up on the kids.

Just look at the facts. We are one of the worst 3rd & 4th Qtr offenses in the nation. Why?
Opposing DC’s adjust at halftime, and opposing OC’s likewise as well. They know that Huskers will use same game plan offense used in first half then recycle same plays in second half. OC’s and DC’s are constantly playing a game of chess with each other, anticipating present moves and future moves on the chessboard gridiron. While our opponents are playing chess, we are playing checkers.

Rhule hasn't been afraid to fire coaches - but he keeps getting coaches that don't work out as replacements. I think RA is fine at DC - he'll need some help out of the portal - he's selling out to stop the run and we aren't quite good enough to stop the pass game if we don't get to the QB. I also think that effort last night by the team was pretty poor overall. I don't get it - culture problem that hiring different coaches isn't going to solve IMHO. If Rob is smart he'll get out of Lincoln because this ship is sinking.. ST needs an actual coach. Offense should be a complete re-do. Defense let RA decide what he needs - if we can keep him. All presuming Rhule isn't dead man walking. 3 more losses.....not sure he survives that. We shall see.

I think the defense is fine. Last night the exception. They held Indiana, Oregon and Washington to nothing through 3 and 1/2 quarters and the offense could do NOTHING. If the offense had scored at all we win. What are we averaging in our 4 loses, something like 13 points? You just dont win if you dont score. The defense has had us in every game, even last night when they had their worst game. Should have been at least 20-7 at half last night. If that was the case I think we would have won going away. Instead the D got fed up with the offense and lost concentration (I dont blame them) and blew it in the 2nd half.

I don’t know what happened with Dana. It seems during the losing string he got stagnant. The play calls got predictable and actually odd. And Colandrea became a different player since resigning for next year!

I'm resigned to it was the combination of playing the better in-conference teams and injuries that we were unable to adapt too very well.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, the Washington team that came to life against Nebraska is losing to Matt Campbell and PSU 28-6, and Rutgers, next week's opponent, is tied with Wisconsin 10-10 on the road.
