CONTEST RULES
1. One entry per person per game. Entries must be posted in the Predict the Score Contest forum located on the BIGHUSKERFAN.COM message board.
2. Contest is restricted to BIGHUSKERFAN.COM message board members. Only entries from registered members will be accepted and eligible to win. If you are not a registered BIGHUSKERFAN.COM message board member, join today...it's FREE.
3. Each entry must contain:
Prediction of the final score for Nebraska and for the opponent.
Prediction of the game's total offensive production by Nebraska.
Entries must be posted by the time denoted on that week's contest. Typically this is by 10:00PM CST on the day prior to game day but does change for odd start times such as night games. As always we advise getting your entry in early. Once the contest is closed, there are no further entries allowed.
Entries cannot be changed once submitted. Any entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
4. The winner will be determined by the following formula.
The differences between the predicted score and the actual score will be added together with the lowest total difference being the actual winner.
Example: A person predicts the final score to be Nebraska 28 - OSU 10 and the actual final score is Nebraska 35 - OSU 13. The total difference would be (35-28 = 7) + (13-10 = 3), or 10 (7+3). The results would be the same if the prediction was 42-7 and the final score was 35-10.
In the event of a tiebreaker, the following rules will apply. In order:
1. Prediction closest to the total score. In the first prediction example above, the total would be 38 (28+10). In the second example of 42-7, the total would be 49. With an actual total score being 48, the prediction of 49 would be closest.
2. Prediction closest to Nebraska's total points scored.
3. Prediction closest to Nebraska's total offensive yards.
4. If two or more contestants have identical predictions as per items 1, 2, and 3 above, the post with the earliest time/date stamp will be declared the winner. Contestants should review previous predictions before posting in an effort to avoid duplication.
5. The winner for each game will receive a prize from www.bighuskerfan.com
6. A message will be posted in the Contest forum following each game identifying the winner.
To ensure the e-mail privacy of contest participants, the contest administrator will send a private message to the winner requesting a valid e-mail address.
The winner must reply to the private message from the contest administrator within 72 hours. The time/date stamp on the message sent by the administrator represents the beginning of the 72-hour period.
The reply must contain a valid e-mail address. If the winner does not reply within the 72-hour period, the prize will carry over to the next game's score prediction contest.
7. Contestants are limited to one first-place prize per season. In the event a contestant wins the contest twice, the prize defaults to the second-place finisher or to the next highest finisher that has not received a first-place prize during that season. Special exceptions can be made however, at the discretion of management and sponsorship, for extra games such as post season/bowl games.
