Colandrea Ranked in Bottom Half of B1G

Portland State is vying for the title of "Worst Team in the FCS". I wouldn't put too much into play against them. PSU lost to today's opponent by 3 TDs already this year and are 0-4.
To be fair, we can't put too much importance on our non-con play either. Let's just execute today, minimize penalties and show we are ready for MSU next week.
BTW- they play ND today and I hope it's a physical grind for them.

Jamal Rule had another very productive day on 15 carries for 119 yards and 2 TDs.

Was a very workman like, take care of business, win.

One thing to keep in mind about AC's completion percentage: He had a couple receivers drop passes AND he wisely threw the ball away three times rather than attempt something stupid like a 'Gunslinger' might do.

Playing in the SEC or Notre Dame means you can have a merely serviceable day stat wise and be considered a "Heisman" candidate.

Just for fun - I pulled a comparison of Kenny Minchey and AC this season. Minchey appears to be a pretty good QB - but he has not shown the legs AC has to extend plays, throw on the run and run for 1st downs.

Statistical Comparison (2026 Season)
Stat Category Anthony Colandrea (Nebraska) Kenny Minchey (Kentucky)
Games Played (G) 4 3
Passing Yards (Yds) 904 699
Pass Completions / Attempts 65 / 92 50 / 76
Completion Percentage 70.7% 65.8%
Passing Touchdowns (TD) 10 7
Interceptions (INT) 1 1
Pass Efficiency / Rating 176.0 170.8
Rushing Yards 141 Limited / negative net
Rushing Touchdowns 2 0

This is a fun thread to revisit going back all the way to Page 1's OP where Righteous Red shared with us that CBS Sports considered him to be in the lower half of B1G QBs. Even back then, I thought that take was ludicrous.

While I certainly had high hopes for AC10--I have to confess, his play thus far has exceeded my expectations. IMO, he's elevated the whole program.

While there are times where his play makes me cringe, for example holding the football like a loaf of bread, what has pleasantly surprised me the most, is Colandrea's moxie. He clearly has not only command of the offense, but his teammates respect. So the best thing the rest of the offensive players can do, especially at RB and WR, is set up their games so he doesn't have to run as much.
