Colandrea Ranked in Bottom Half of B1G

A little gun shy, redfred???!?

As a self-proclaimed BHF coach, I confess I'm disappointed with our BHF team's preseason performances. Clearly, our bunch isn't ready for 'game week' yet. Sorry to call you out, redfred, but you're one of our leaders. We expect more "BOOK IT" power outta you. :nonono2:

But on the positive side, our board still has 19 days to get into game shape.
I’ll try and do better.:)

FWIW I am not nervous about the offense at all. In fact I might be willing to wager we never score less than 20 this year. And the games we are that low will be few and far between. Now can we keep the big boys from going over 30 against us? For me there is the rub.

Had a conversation with an individual this past weekend that was bashing Colandrea. His biggest issue was that "he had the most fumbles in college football last year"

I questioned that stat as I had never heard that he had a fumbling issue, much less having the most in all of college football for 2025. I further asked if that was total fumbles, fumbles lost, were they bad snaps, etc. He couldn't/wouldn't expand on it, so I am taking his dislike of Colandrea with a grain of salt.

Did a couple searches to find some stats, but getting conflicting/ambiguous results. Does anybody know if this supposed stat is anywhere near correct?

Colandrea ranked somewhere between 6th and 23rd. I'm going with 23rd.

HBJ, I pulled that very site up when looking. That is where some of the ambiguity came from.

That site appears to say 7 fumbles and 3 lost. Another site indicated 12 fumbles, but wasn't sure if that was total or lost.

Also, that appears to be QB position only.

I'm not getting my panties in a wad over this one. I think we're going to be pleased with the young man in about 3 weeks but I've been wrong before. LOL!!!

GO BIG RED!!!

I'd get mine "in a wad", but I don't think DEPENDS can do that. :-)

Actually not THERE yet, just wanted to "lighten the load"...so to speak. :-)

I m sorry but at this juncture he is the horse we are riding and having not played a single game for the Huskers, hes all we got. Nothing written means diddily squat until we start playing football games in the B1G

Colandrea threw for 7,542 yards and 49 touchdowns in 3 seasons, Im waiting to see how he does before crying out loud. :) My concern as always is the o line play which will give him the time to add to those stats. (Not taking anything from the other two QB's in doing so)

I was surprised to learn that Colandrea's last game for UNLV was against Ohio, our Week 1 opponent. It was in the Rebels' bowl game which they lost to Ohio, 17-10.

I found the game on YouTube and watched one of those-fast-and-dirty replays of it.
  • The Bad News: AC fumbled the ball inside Ohio's 10 yard line in the first quarter and threw an interception in the Ohio endzone before the half.
  • The Good News: In the second half Anthony threw a bomb right into his breakaway receiver's hands which would've gone for a TD--but the guy dropped it. With the game on the line, AC engineered a gutty, late game TD drive (despite screw-ups by his teammates) to put the Rebels within reach. But the Rebel defense couldn't stop Ohio from making a first down and running out the clock.
So Our Boy will have a shot at personal redemption a couple Saturdays from now wearing the Scarlet and Cream. :)
