CBS has him at number 11. With the exception of Rutgers and Iowa (CBS not impressed with Iowa QB @18th), the rest of the QB’s we face are ranked ahead of Colandrea. Hope Rhule hangs up the Bulletin Board in the locker room today, should motivate Anthony and Huskers. I know I’ve been down lately on our Huskers, but as season draws near, I’m starting to get excited by posts by some of our “Solar Transport Personnel” AKA: Sunshine Pumpers. Time to get to work and prove the naysayers wrong, GBR.

LOL @ 'Solar Transport Personnel'
CBS has him at number 11.
The top 'rankings' are predictable and 4-18 are pure conjecture. One of the wild things about AC is that I could envision him super-high or super-low when it all plays out. I did find it interesting that a 'national sports writer' ranked Wisconsin's new QB, Colton Joseph, transferring from Old Dominion University ahead of the Mountain West's Player of the Year.

I'm fixing to watch the 'A Better Fit for Nebraska' YouTube video innmc posted a second time. I highly recommend it.

The Film Guy is not a Nebraska fan. Colandrea got included because he breaks down film on a number of CFB QBs. FWIW, I learned more about AC (his good and his bad) from the one game he broke down on tape than all the Husker stuff I've seen up to now.

I'm not getting my panties in a wad over this one. I think we're going to be pleased with the young man in about 3 weeks but I've been wrong before. LOL!!!

GO BIG RED!!!

Yay Uenth!:yay:
...but I've been wrong before. LOL!!!
Nobody's perfect, but we trust your intuition, Uenth.

When it comes to "Book it" quotes, there are 2 things we can all have total faith in Uenth about:

1) The time it'll take to finish her kitchen reno and 2) our feelings about Colandrea!!!

I thought I was wrong once, but turns out I was wrong about that so………:)

Yeah I was hopefuls about Sims once, and that experience has me a little gun with picking winners at the qb position. But one thing I am pretty sure about……he will have a good line to help keep the jitters at bay.

A little gun shy, redfred???!?

As a self-proclaimed BHF coach, I confess I'm disappointed with our BHF team's preseason performances. Clearly, our bunch isn't ready for 'game week' yet. Sorry to call you out, redfred, but you're one of our leaders. We expect more "BOOK IT" power outta you. :nonono2:

But on the positive side, our board still has 19 days to get into game shape.

The whole video is a fascinating watch about the play of our new QB. But if you don't have the time to watch the whole thing (around a half an hour), there's a play you need to watch at the 22:18 mark because it tells you all you need to know about the kind of player Anthony is.

On a scramble play, AC runs to his left and has enough free room to more than make the first down. But as he nears the sideline, instead of going out-of-bounds as defenders approach, you see him deliberately slow down.

At first glance, you might wonder why allow yourself to get hit when you can avoid it all together?

AC welcomes the contact by the defenders because he realizes exactly where he is on the field. The result? He's hit along the out-of-bounds line and flops---three flags immediately fly up in the air---for a personal foul. THAT was as savvy a veteran QB move as I've ever seen.

FYI, later in the game, the same thing happens and the defenders are smart enough this time to not allow Colandrea to sucker them into the same penalty.

It's official: I've reached that point that I hit every year about this time. I am sick of pre-season predictions about anything and everything. These polls are worthless clickbait for the most part. I've seen my fill for 2026.

Let's just play football. It won't be long now.

I second that emotion. Start the dang season already!
