BOWL ELIGIBLE (creative swearing allowed)

Thank God none of you are near me because I'm bringing a clothesline. Wife is passed out, so maybe the Basset Hound is going to get it. I am so damn happy right now.

Damn this feels good guys and gals. I feel bad about being overly critical of DR. He has that swagger back and he really balled today. For those of you that were saying "Give him a break, he's a freshman"...you were right, I was wrong. I am not going to say anything negative tonight, but I will say this. Holgorsen made a world of difference with this offense.

Did I tell you how good this feels? DAMN, the 8-year weight has been lifted!

You could tell we came to play from the kick-off. D could have played better but otherwise I got no complaints. Winning football was played in Lincoln today and we smacked Wisky right in the mouth.

He was fantastic today. I actually have a drunken buzz watching Rhule and I'm liking it.

For real. Not that Raiola doesn't deserve a ding or two for occasionally not seeing a man standing all alone wide open flapping his arms up and down begging for the ball, but the fact that Emmitt Johnson just went for almost 200 yards of total offense after being a borderline non-factor HAS to be DH putting a foot down and saying "WTF HAVE YOU MORONS BEEN DOING?" That makes life so much easier for Dylan.

Part of me wants to know where this offense has been, but F it, it's a win.

I will admit, I was willing to give Satterfield the benefit of the doubt when he was hired, but I was wrong and, as is not too unusual, a big stupid moron. That didn't work out at all. Given the QB room situation last year, it might not have cost NU a bowl game at the end of the day, but it nearly did this year. Credit to Rhule for proving other doubters wrong when he made a change (I figured he might, since he had already let Satterfield go once before between Temple and Baylor).

What I liked is they never let up. When Wisconsin answered their score and got a fumble in the red zone, they buckled up and played harder. No one got down or hung their head. They had the mindset that we can play past this. The only thing that stopped the offense was a couple of dropped passes. Just like last week, the special teams played nearly flawless. Who would have thought that earlier in the season? The running game clicked and complemented the passing game perfectly. They play calling kept Wisky guessing and most of the time they guessed wrong. When Wisconsin was closing and NU needed to run clock, they didn't craw into a shell and get the runs, they stayed with their offense, aired it out and kept scoring.

They didn't beat themselves and it was obvious Wisconsin wasn't going to either.

Ya know, for about a half dozen games I've been hearin' from about 20 of ya'll "Fire Satt, use more EJ." time after time after time.
I'm starting to think you're right.

Is it okay to say my heart was in my throat when we somehow allowed them to throw a long bomb when we all we had to do was keep everything in front of us?

I am so happy for that team (and us). Get Holgerson some NIL $. Keep Emmitt Johnson and Jacoby Barney from the transfer portal. Get Demetrius Bell healthy. And get those high level recruits and transfers!

So good to be excited and not frustrated!

1. Super stoked about Nebraska gaining bowl eligibility.

2. I am going to Nebraska's bowl game, don't care where it is or which one it is.

3. Nebraska, for (I believe) the first time this season had a RB rush for over 100 yards. And the result was a convincing win. Must be a coincidence.

4. We here on BHF have literally been saying all season the #21 Emmett Johnson is the best back. It only took this coaching staff 10 games to figure it out.

5. Great win. despite the defense thinking their job is to allow points, not stop them.

6. But what made me the most proud watching the game today? Is that when Nebraska got the lead, and Wisconsin answered with a score, Nebraska came right back and scored to answer Wisconsin's score. I cannot remember the last time that happened.

7. Through 9 games, we were screaming, literally and figuratively, for Coach Rhule to get rid of Satterfield, or at the minimum make someone else the OC. Tonight, it paid off BIGLY!

GO BIG RED!!!!!!
