Anybody Watching CU vs. TCU?

The Blackshirts gave up 13 points in a tough conference game on the road. Minnesota had 196 yards passing on 44 attempts, and 55 yards rushing. What kind of defensive numbers from the Huskers do you need to see before they are "world beaters?"

I'm not saying they are the '95 Blackshirts by any stretch, but you are very quick to discount Husker accomplishments while heaping praise on everything Colorado.

It almost seems as though there are a few "fans" here that would rather see the Huskers fail than succeed so they can brag about how right they were about the poor head coach selection. It's bizarre how negative some fans are after Game1 of the Rhule Era.
Rhule is going to get way more time than one game as far as I'm concerned. Disappointed we lost? Yup! Ready to fire Rhule? Not by a long shot!

GO BIG RED!

I chugged the Rhuleaid this summer. I liked everything I heard from Coach and the team. What I saw from Sims though has me questioning some of what I heard. Am I ready to fire Rhule? Heck no. Was I disappointed in what I saw from the offense? HELL YEAH. But Rhule has my support at this point and time.
I was not a Rhule guy at the start. Not because I didnt think he was a good coach but because I didn't (and still dont) think he is going to be here for the long haul. But over the summer he got me drinking the kool-aid with his talk. Just hope it wasn't all talk.
Lets hope things change before Saturday and we kick the snot out of CU.

I think it was a mistake getting rid of Casey Thompson It is what it is now and I just hope they get it figured out soon

I get me speaking the truth makes you angry so you attack. Too bad. Minn is not a good team and lost a ton of talent. Heaping praise on a defense after game one (as you point out) and arguing they are “world beaters” is ridiculous. Certainly the defense showed better than the offense, but comparing the two teams (CU and NU) by seeing with your own eyes should give you a TON of concern.

Fire Rhule? Hahahahahahaha. Who is saying that?

I never said that you or anyone did. However, you can sense the seeds of discontent already.

I'm keeping an open mind about HCMRh. At least for the first 2 seasons. If we haven't made serious improvement after the 2024 season, I'll be spitting bullets, pretty sure!

Easy there li'l guy. I have many of the same concerns you do. I simply choose to acknowledge a lot of the positives from the first game of the season while you seem hellbent on bedowngrading (thanks again Coach Gundy) our beloved Huskers at every opportunity. I'm not angry with you I promise. We're on the same side.

Now let's get back on point and focus. I did not say the Huskers were world beaters. I merely asked you what would have qualified as "world beater" status in Game 1 if the stats cited did not impress you. I thought it was a solid performance and see a lot of promise on that side of the ball going forward.

His record at new locations is one of building and developing, not winning. Personally I thought we played very well against a solid Minnesota team only to melt in the final 5 minutes. We got hosed by the Refs on that goal line in the final couple of seconds, but we managed to offset the screwing by them to our own misdeeds. How Grant got in the game with a record of butterfingers is beyond me. Both coaching errors. TCU had a crummy defense last year and CU was 1 and 11 so there is that. TCU is ded last in pass defense and CU is not much better. They are terrible in any category of defense you choose. Nebraska is 33 in Total D and Minne is 55. We should have won that game.

Keep the faith girl, its coming.

I expect that we'll be fine. I'm not sweating our record one way or another until the start of the 2025 season If we would still be sucking eggs then, Uenth would definitely be off the band wagon.

I agree li'l lady. Hellbent. Hah!

Don't blow coverage in the endzone that leads to a game tying TD and give up a 15 yard run during clutch time that led to the game losing FG. We do that every game it seems over the last 6 years. I stand by my statement our defense is not a world beater but they have a chance to take a giant leap forward this weekend.

Hmmm... probably best to let this wither on the vine. There's a contradictatarian thread you might find enlightening.
