Alliance of American Football story about Huskers on the Salt Lake Stallions

[saturdaysarebetter]

The pace of the game was quicker and when I watch an NFL game, seems like after most plays there's either an injury, a penalty or a review.

I turn on the TV to watch my local news and the end of the AAF game was on; didn't even know the league existed. Then who do I see with his arms folded and chomping his gum on the sidelines? Mr. Smiley! That was almost enough to assure that I never tune into another one.

Singletary, Erickson, Spurrier, Martz, and Neuheisel are pretty big names for a start-up football league to have on board.

Youll know youll have a thorough team under those names.

[Crazyhole]

The league was definitely smart to not try and go head to head with the NFL or college football. They recognized the fact that there is demand for more football and are going about it in the right way. Getting those names involved gives them immediate legitimacy.

I too have been somewhat impressed with a decent start to the league. The football isn't bad (obviously not the NFL) but it isn't bad.

I watched a little of the Orlando / San Antonio game last night and it was pretty entertaining. My middle boy came in from working out, watched a couple of plays and remarked, "the two plays I watched were more entertaining than the entire Super Bowl this year!" I agreed.

Yes, these are recognizable names...
