What are chances Dylan, or Daniel can start as freshmen? Well, I'm not usually big on a freshman starting as qb's for two reasons:
#1 Learning the nuances of college ball in general and the specifics of a program's plan specifically. Dylan and Daniel will have all spring, summer and fall to get acclimated so I think there is a chance they can get up-and-running on this concern.
#2 Athletes have not often reached the physical maturity needed for college ball. This leads to injuries that can hamper an athlete their entire college career. Dylan has come as close to the level of physical maturity a qb needs as we've had in a long time. He might have an arm like Mahomes, Lawrence, or Burrow.....but he has the body of a Tebow. This attribute will give him a leg up on Kaelin initially imo, but don't count Danny out later on. A little time under Campbell will get him up to speed as well. Personally, I'd like to give Daniel a little seasoning on this front before he's thrown into the fire. We've all seen how early injuries hamper a qb for an entire career. Dylan on the other hand is built like a TE. This gives him a much better chance to start early and stay healthy.....imo.
Two great potential quarterbacks make this recruiting class special. And no I haven't counted out Purdy. With the right training he could be something special too. He doesn't have Dylan's body but he does cover a lot of bases. If he can stay healthy he could well be in the mix if he stays......which isn't a given.
