2024 4*LB Vincent Shavers -N!

ATX_Husker · Dec 16, 2023

Was a Miami commit, some show him to be a 3*. Was very impressed on his visit, would not be surprised if he is N.

Another 4-star visiting Nebraska football, plus a new 2024 projection

SUHnami · Dec 16, 2023

I'm pretty sure he's going to be N.

ATX_Husker · Dec 16, 2023

Yes sounds like we went 4 for 4 with Raiola, Shavers, Hill and Williams.

BREAKING: Miami Hurricanes lose second commitment in as many days

NearBigRedOfTheDesert · Dec 17, 2023

How in the world do we have room for all thee guys? I hate when we withdraw offers this close to signing day. Hopefully those kids find a home during the second signing day in February, but I guess upgrades are upgrades and college is a business.

It's not just this recruiting class. The staff will be having tough convos with current non- contributers about them taking up a schollie and not using it.

This seems like a verbal commit.

ATX_Husker · Dec 18, 2023

Yes hearing he is N

And that sucks, too. I can’t imagine having had that conversation when I was 19 and trying my hardest. Has to be devastating.

Yes and no - so much is about playing time now if you are being told you likely won't get it AND you want to keep playing college football - that is what the portal is for.

Yeah, a lot of these non-contributors are just that, not contributing and sucking up a schollie. In today's game colleges are pulling schollies from non-contributors.

NearBigRedOfTheDesert · Dec 18, 2023

Oh, I get that college football is a cash business. And has been for a long time. But I don’t have to feel good about it. Hopefully the kids asked to depart have the option to continue their education at DONU with scholarships if they want to stay in Lincoln.

i didn’t make the 8th grade basketball team at Lewis and Clark Jr High and I got over it, mostly, but at least I didn’t have to pay tuition afterwards.

If they talk to guys they'll be pulling schollies.

Getting better all starts with talent. Rhule seems to be bring in an upgrade on the talent side. This is what is needed. I want to see NU get back to the place where they placed 6 or 7 players in the pros every year. If that means cutting the dead weight, that is life.
