I know it's a popular thing to pile on the coach, but he's got a point. If you've ever been on a court of field as a member of the losing team, it can kind of get weird, and even the best fans can have idiots who want to jump in the faces of competitive athletes who have just lost an emotional...

How were they lined up on defense? Are you sure there wasn't a RPO component to it? I doubt Satt would think he's calling perfect games, but from what I saw he made a ton of really good play calls that our offense failed to execute. And the notion that we needed to change based on our personnel...

Not being argumentative, but wrestling weigh in is usually about an our or so prior to the match if memory serves. At least that’s what I recall from a roommate who wrestled. You can hydrate some, but that’s only going to change 5ish pounds or so would be my guess.

Wiscy shot really well, and we probably needed to get more defensive minded in our rotation.

I’m trying to get my mind around this. He’s 320 during football season, but has to be under 285 to wrestle, right?

Isn’t he about the same player as what they previously had? Maybe a little better runner and more of a risk taker, maybe a little less of a leader, but a lot of similarities.

Decent first half against Indiana.

Wrong, field position matters, and Buschini failed miserably on numerous occasions to reduce pressure on the defense AND to help our offense gain better field position because he failed to flip the field. One player struck the ball 57 times, the other 15 times. Buschini had 5 games he AVERAGED...

A kid I really liked the film on, but he’s not really seen the field at this point. Good luck to him.

Turnovers, I agree, but he was far more impactful from a negative standpoint than our FG kicker. One was a freshman finding his way, the other was on the Ray Guy watchlist. The stats don’t lie, Buschini had a poor year. Alvano was solid with the exception of 40-49 yard kicks. He was also perfect...

I’d add that our punter failed to execute regularly last season.

No denying what Smart had to say, and it’s going to be interesting to see how this problem is resolved.

Ok, I understand the sentiment that we need to maintain cautious optimism, but the lack of recognizing the college sports world is much different now than when Fred was at ISU seems really shortsighted. In many cases, Fred’s transfers at ISU had to sit a year, they got to practice together for a...

I’m not a regular poster, but I am surprised by the lack of hoop conversation. Fred has continued to adapt to the conference and college sports in the 2020s. One thing I do think he needs to consider is having Tominaga come off the bench the remainder of the season. It’s not just going to help...

When you think about the great running teams, in many cases there would be some level of option, be it from a traditional formation or maybe a diamond formation. With the rules change eliminating the cut block, it’s tougher to get linemen who can play in space and finish blocks to create running...

How many times since Devaney started coaching did we play for a championship? Do you honestly think they were thinking championship every season? How many times did we play in bowls that weren’t on New Year’s Day? I remember numerous. How about we focus on climbing the ladder 1 rung at a time...

You know what improves a receivers ability to catch a ball? A ball that’s put on target and on time. When a guy comes out of a break and has no clue where the ball is going to be, it’s hard to develop confidence, especially for young, inexperienced players. We did see some drops, but it’s...

Well let's look at the TE and WR rooms. At TE, how many of our current guys do you feel have strong potential to contribute as receivers? Not just the occasional 'bail out' catch, but a true threat that defenses will need to account for? In my opinion, you only have Fidone IF he stays healthy...

Just so we understand, what does get your juices flowing? A highly rated HS running back? Someone who has never been involved with S&C at the collegiate level? The kid from Oregon was in a room that was loaded with studs, so his lack of carries shouldn't be all that surprising. If we hadn't lost...

It looks like complaining, but if not, you may have missed the stud RB we have coming for a visit, and we still have 3 talented players with starting experience coming back next year. We had a need for more explosive players at WR, we needed TEs, and frankly some we have might become Tackles, so...
