Won - Loss record doesn’t tell the health of a program

To me it seems like NU is going through the same type of problems that Alabama had after Bear retired. They suffered through a half dozen coaches before they brought in Sabin.

I think NU may have finally found its Sabin. I like what he is doing and think he will put the program back on the right track. It is not happening overnight, but it is trending in the right direction.

I like your optimism. I'm cautiously optimistic but remain unconvinced at this point. I like what Rhule did but just need to see some progress this season. Sure hope he's made the changes we need though as I really don't want another version of the coaching carousel. UGH!

Coach Osborne would always give credit to his players and his staff for the success he had at Nebraska
As far as I'm concerned, he is bringing in the necessary players and tweaking his staff so that's what it takes. Good players will make a coach look like a genius

I am changing my blood pressure medication and they advise to limit alcohol intake. Could be a tough Fall with no alcohol - although Cannabis is legal and available now in MN. Time to become a stoner to make it through the Big 10 gauntlet.

Actually, after Bryant was Ray Perkins and Bill Curry. Then Gene Stallings who won a national championship. I wouldn't call that suffering. Then DuBose, Franchione, Shula then Saban.

Being stoned does make it a little easier to deal with (losses). I'm hopeful there won't be a need to be stoned to the bone every game day this year!

It's difficult and foolish not to look at the big picture and the program's record at the end of the season, but I always ask is the team playing better as the season goes along and playing its best at season's end. To me that's a sign of good coaching.

I agree and last year, we were playing worse at the end of the season. It really just blew large chunks!

I agree Stallings was a pretty good coach. However, between Bear and Saban they had about 25 years of mostly mediocre to bad football. Several of those seasons were below 500 ball.
