Bowling!!!

On the off-chance Nebraska ends up in the Music City Bowl vs Vanderbilt, if I were Matt Rhule, I'd plaster Diego Pavia's trash talking about Nebraska all over the locker room. Make them look at it every day for the entirety of the bowl prep.

C'mon now 99. If motivational antics like that actually worked Rhule could have shown that Iowa kicker running around both Memorial and Kinnick Stadiums mocking Husker Nation the last two seasons before this year's matchup. The Husker response to the last two years brutal ending against a bitter rival was to roll over and play dead.

Rhule doesn't do stuff like that. He wants to be "respectful" to everyone.

I'm saying, when someone blatantly disrespects Nebraska, make them pay. Again, if I were coaching Nebraska, and we were playing Vanderbilt in a bowl game, my defensive game plan would be for Diego Pavia to not finish the game. I'll leave it to you to interpret what that means.

Pavia disrespects every opponent. He and his entire family have that Burqueño gangsta in them. I find it extremely annoying and hilarious at the same time. In pre-game warmups before the Bama game in Alabama he was practicing the victory formation kneel down and the crowd was going ballistic. Dude loves to play head games with opponents. He was on the podcast Bussin' with the Boys a few days ago and they were showing him a video of his brother (the one that has been arrested twice at Vandy games) on the field looking like he wanted to square up with a Kentucky player before the game. Pavia laughed and said "You gotta understand I'm from Albuquerque, it's like real life GTA (Grand Theft Auto) there all the time.

My point is yes, Nebraska could do something illegal and injure him, but that Li'l bastard will not back down from anyone. Sounds strange for a QB, but he was a 3-time state finalist in wrestling and won the state title his senior year. He's a dog. Honestly, I wish Nebraska had a few guys with his attitude. He does not have a career in the NFL, but he is a difference maker in college.

I don't want ANY politician involved with college football.
In the immortal words of Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones, "You can't always get what you want." :) ;)

Every member of the Board of Regents is an elected politician and university administrators worth their salt had damn well better be politicans if they hope to keep their jobs long.

As ATX said earlier we'll be headed to Vegas to play Utah. I guess teams find out ahead of time to start the process of getting tickets, etc. It'll officially be announced on Sunday.
Sean even mentioned that hotel accommodations have been made for the team

Vegas has gotten really expensive post COVID - nothing political - that's just the reality of all the capital investment needing to service their debt......much of the free and low cost stuff doesn't exist anymore. And rooms are pricey unless you are will to stay in a motel hell.

I used to make an annual poker trip to Vegas but haven't for a few years now. Why?

1) I'm always angry that Vegas hotels somehow get away with posting their hotel prices without being required to add-in their daily 'service' fees which are expensive. How in the hell is this practice legal??!?

2) The old poker tournaments I used to enjoy playing aren't much fun anymore. I liked paying $40 or $60 bucks up-front with the prospect of making some nice money if I made it to the final table (or whereever the money line was.) The new practice is to have players pay an upfront fee while begin paying an ante beginning with the very first rotation---and this is on top of the increasing blinds every few minutes (the old 20 or 30 minutes has shrunk to 15 or less). Unless you're paying high stakes (which I certainly don't), the old daily open tournaments I used to play have become nothing but super-turbo "push all-in with any semi-decent hand before your once-healthy chip stack evaporates with all the antes" lottery games. Unless you get lucky, you're out of chips in less that two hours--there's no skill involved in that kind of tournament.

3) Adding to what Jimbosc said, nothing is cheap anymore, particularly food. Buffet prices have gotten ridiculous. Same with the shows.

We could be starting our 3rd or 4th string QB if Lateef's hamstring doesn't come around soon.

EJ won't play. Who else might opt out? Dane Key?

If Utah is the opponent, we're probably looking at a double-digit point spread. Argh.

I kinda know the answer, but why are we being fed to Utah? They are 3rd in the Big 12 and we are 10th in the B1G. A top Big 12 team against a below average B1G team doesn't seem right. Maybe if the fans stay home they'll think twice about serving us up and expecting our fans to foot the bill. If there's only 10,000 people in the stands, they'll understand we need to be treated fairly.
I know this sounds whiny, but I wouldn't pay to watch us get sent to the slaughterhouse.

How old am I? Well, suffice it to say I can remember when 10 bucks got us a fantastic buffet meal and rooms were less expensive than the flight for a 3 or 4 night stay on the strip.
