Vanderbilt Quarterback Diego Pavia Takes Shot at Big Ten, Nebraska

When discussing teams trying to lure him into the transfer portal this offseason, Pavia was asked if any Big Ten schools reached out to him.

"You want to play with the best; you don't want to play with the Big Ten," Pavia said. "You ignore those calls."

Pavia then went to bat for his conference, while taking shots at specific teams in the Big Ten.

"You got to think about this too, the SEC is like nothing (else)," Pavia said. "The Big Ten, you have Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, Penn State... the SEC you have all dogs. You only have like four games a year (in the Big Ten). The SEC, it's like week after week you're going to get beat on.

"The Big Ten, you ain't going to get beat on with like the Purdue, Nebraskas."
.

Revisiting this comment by Pavia that was posted here on Nov 7th. The way the season ended it turns out he was spot on concerning Purdue and Nebraska.

Vanderbilt has not faced a Big Ten opponent since a 42-24 loss to Purdue in 2019. The Commodores have not beaten an active Big Ten foe since a 3-0 victory over Northwestern in 1947.

here is another factoid

College football star calls on Trump take charge of College Football Playoff decisions

Is this what we need? Its already a mess?

I don't usually cheer for Iowa, but if they play Vandy in a bowl as projected, I hope they bounce him around like a basketball.

Too bad we couldn't play in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, TX. That's literally a ~1 hour away from me. I'd absolutely go to that bowl game!

As it stands right now, Las Vegas, NV is a ~9 hour drive so that's doable.
Sweet. I was hoping for a Florida's bowl game but oh well. My wife and I are going to spend a few days in Florida the week of new year's

Sounds like it is going to be Las Vegas vs Utah

Number 2 rushing team in the nation.

In reality, it doesn't matter who we play in the bowl game. Literally any competent opposing coaches will know we can't stop the run and will therefore design an offensive gameplan where they exploit our biggest weakness.

Not to mention we will be missing EJ and whoever else opts out. Not even sure if TJ will be a full go we may be down to Gramstad or Davila starting.

I can see why Emmett Johnson would opt out, but what other reasons could anyone else have? We don't have any projected 1st rounders on this team and the consensus here on BHF seems to be that EJ is, at best, a 2nd day pick.
