QB Richard Torres

I am not focusing on a players imaginary future career. That a certain recruit could be a star is conjecture based on wishful thinking. My nephew could be great to, does he get scholarship offers? We only know what we know. What we know is that Frost seems to have settled on second tier recruiting. If he was Bill Snyder I wouldn't as concerned but the fact is he is not. I dont know if this staff had a reasonably good recruiting mojo or they were young Turks given the benefit of the doubt early on. Now, after a string of losing seasons I won guessing top players dont see an upside to coming here. Some staffs recruit well in spite of it such as John Blake's Sooners or Bill Callahan. Those were just good recruiting staffs irregardless of what was happening on the field.
I see with Frost that blue chippers dont want to play for him for whatever reason and the skill it takes to convince these kids to come here just doesnt exist.

Kind of. Do you know what star ranking Tommie Frazier was given? He wasn't a 5 star or even a 4 star. Do you know why?

2021 Football Team Rankings


Going all the way back to 2001….20 years HCSF has recruited better then all but 2 classes., there have been some that have landed in the same area but he is hitting better and consistently better.



And those 2 are not together
 
To me, this is just one of those deals that we have to wait and see how it plays out.

I think most of y'all know by now that I am not impressed by the so called experts and their star rankings. I want to see how they do on the field and how the games play out. Then I'll tell you how many stars these guys deserve. Also, I'm a bit of a hard @ss but most of you know that by now as well.

As someone said elsewheres, its no coincidence the top20recruiting classes, those teams usually finish in the top 20.
I'll go a step further and say, the ones that are outside this usual happenstance are the teams that find the diamonds in the rough, those 3 star qbs, like UCF for example, and also develop those diamonds in the rough.
To argue UCF had a lowly 3 star, found by the same coaches who now have found another lowly 3 star is a bad sign, instead of recognition for finding the Herberts and Miltons is nuts to me.

Two different schools, two 3 star qbs, one goes undefeated, the other is playing on sundays, same coach, I'd want to know who this coach is, not run him down

You ever see the team rankings?
You ever seethe top twenty year end ratings?
2021 Football Team Rankings
Youll notice most of those teams are on the same, or both lists year end and year out.
This is statistically impossible to be just coincidence

We've had this discussion before. I think most of the so called experts are overly impressed with themselves.

I thought we agreed to disagree on this some time ago.

I'm just stating facts.
Believe what you want, thats fine.
But numbers dont change, years dont change, and like you, stating my opinion followed by facts.
When I have facts, I like to bring them to follow up my opinion sometimes

I think that, often as not, John Q Public can do just as well or better than a lot of the so called experts.

Disclaimer -- I am NOT including myself in those numbers of those who can do that (predict).

I agree to an extent, but the variables are vast.
Is the player already at their peak? Do they grow out of their position?
Will putting on more muscle help or hurt their abilities?

Amongst the above, at 18, do they even look physically ready to be noticed by the 'experts'.
And, not everykid gets a good look either, those diamonds in the rough.

Theres even more variables, but for what they do, the 'experts' have done a consistent job.

Samori Toure is a great example, he grew 3 inches, got faster as well, and beat Randy Moss' all time playoff yardage in a game numbers

Joe Ganz was what a three star? I would settle on a tall Joe Ganz or a more mobile Zack Lee
QB will need to be 7 foot tall to see over the O line
