Will there be Spring practice, Covid-19 vaccine

Hub and I are both registered with the Health Department to receive the vaccination. Just waiting for emails telling us that it's our turn. He's 70 so I expect him to get notification fairly soon. I'll be 65 in July so I'm not in the target group yet. However, they said to go ahead and register and that way, when things open up, you are already in the queue.

I look at it as the first step in regaining some semblence of normalcy. Though I confess that normalcy is a very distant memory. Hub and I were talking last week and we both are unsure if we'll ever sit down in a restaurant again for a meal. We do take away frequently but sitting inside - neither one of us are sure about doing that. Kind of solidified, for both of us, that we need to suck it up and get the kitchen reno done as we both spend a lot more time in the kitchen than we did pre-COVID 19. We've pretty much figured out the redesign so I'll call our trusty contractor this week and get him over so we can get estimate, visit our trusty banker and get this project rocking. Getting the kitchen reno might be the silver lining of COVID-19 for me. Kitchen was always the weak link of this house. Changing that will be EXCELLENT.

Back to OT, vax -- I believe in vax'ing. Polio, measles and more were eradicated when people had their children immunizied and now are making a comeback. One of my nephews is autistic, highly functioning. My brother and I had a long discussion about vax and autism. Needless to say, he did a ton of research and reading and says it's absolute bunk that vax's cause autism.
So you've had the virus, are going to get vaccinated, but will still wear a mask and never eat in a restaurant again because you are afraid of covid? Can you see how someone might think that doesn't sound very rational?

Uenth, read this
Why the 1918 Flu Pandemic Never Really Ended
Once through, its weakens, brand new, it kills.
The spanish flu makes covid take second best, or worst.

Once its no longer a 'novel' or new. or, we have absolutely no defenses against it, it becomes a flu like any other.
If the spanish flu didnt stop you from eating out, covid shouldnt either.

And if Fauci were worth his salt,he would have let everyone know this by now.

I just got a call from my best friend. His dad got the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Friday and now he's in the hospital. They've put him on blood thinners and remdesivir. Didn't test positive for covid but he's having pretty extreme symptoms of it.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense. Virus immunity (COVID survivor) is believed to be 3-6 months. Fauci recommends getting vaccinated and wearing a mask, especially if you've had COVID. He also does not recommend eating in a restaurant at this point in time. So, I'm basically following Fauci's recommendations.

If people would get a grip and wear a freakin' mask, follow recommendations and get vaccinated, then we could all quit wearing masks and I'd eat in a restaurant again. As it stands now, not only no but HELL NO.

You know a few months ago, you were singing his praises.

I think he is worth his salt and we do not know that what you are saying is true.

Live your life as you see fit. Problem is that your actions have affect everyone else whether or not we are willing to play the game with your rules.

WHAT THE F*** EVER.

No, I might have looked forwards to his guidance over a year ago.
But still, over a year ago, he showed signs of not knowing what to do.
He went from, nothing to worry about to start wrying, to not wearing masks to wearing them.

To date, there is only one verified study of masks being worn vs not, involving 6000 mask wearers that were tracked, their numbers were the same.
If you care, fact check this after watching it, its all true.

If you already have the antibodies, your body has the ability to ctreate more, like I showed with th spanish flu link.
Its todays common flu.
As it mixes with other animals, as they can get it too, some of those animals share their illnesses with us, and some jump from the old spanish flu to a newer mutated through the animals version of it, the same animals that can infect us.
These new mutated flu are more potent in varying ways, easier to catch, more virulent etc.
So, at any given moment, the old spanish flu can do what covid 2 has done, which is simply a more virulent form of covid one.
But getting reinfected can cause problems in a very small number of people just like was stated earlier when people get their second shots, as their bodies may over react, by one, naturally, sinc after the first shot, your antibody levels are already there, and you body revs up that way, and second, by creating an unatural attack by injected a virus simulation into your body, not harmful to you, other than also creating an even greater needed response from your body to create even more antibodies, some folks bodies just go into, well, too great of an overdrive.
But understand, this wont happen if you contact the virus in a natural way, as those amounts are very very small, and your antibodies are on the virus in adequate numbers to wipe out the virus, and you simply arent bombarded with multitudes more in your blood all at once when like you are from a vaccine.
Currently, there is no real long term data as to how long our antibodies will stay in our systems, though there have been steady ongoing testing from those original volunteers that first got the vaccines, and are monitored closely, and the 3-6 month numbers arent specific to covid, but a learned generalization of past histories of various virus antibody survival within our bodies.

Uenth, I respect your freedoms, and respect your choices, always will, heck, I need to, its only right to do so.
The choice needs to be yours and yours alone, as a free woman, I only ask, in these matters, let freedom ring for all.

I think you kind of touched on the real issue here: it can be dangerous to invoke an immune response over and over again because the body goes into overload. That's why I'm pretty concerned about us having a rash of auto-immune disorders like guillion Barre or lupus coming out of this. I think it's pretty likely that we should be spacing the 1st and 2nd doses out a lot further or maybe just stick with one dose. This whole thing is completely experimental, so we should take caution.

I think opinions are great, and some speculation needs to be allowed imo, from all corners.
We are seeing kids with Kawasaki, we see Lupus etc.
Numbers are thankfully low, but at the same time, it does several things as well.
We unfortunately have more patients to work with, so our understanding of say, thresholds, or, why would a person that normally wouldnt get Lupus getting it from the vaccine itself, whats changing that we now know, being right on top of it, we can gather enough understanding going forwards for better treatments, and eliminating it altogether in some, and keeping it more manageable in others,
These are harder things to figure out obviously, or we wouldnt have the problem we have today, with or without covid or the vaccine.

Swelling in the body kills alot of people, shorten lives, and weakens even more, the triggers, some of which we are seeing with this damned pandemic may lead us to our overall better health down the road, so by me speculating this alone ,imo, can be viewed as makin the best out of a crappy situation.

This is why I too welcome speculation, as it may on its face look a negative, it could likely end a positive, but each of us are unique, as well as our thoughts and concerns.

What recommendation did I make?

That isn't a recommendation, it's speculation partly based on timing schedules we use for MMR and Dtap. I don't know of any 2 or 3 dose vaccines that aren't spaced out at least a month.
