Greg Bell leaves the team

Wow talk about being impatient. It does appear that Devine is going to be the man this year but he is a senior, all Bell had to do was keep fighting off Mo to get the leftover carries and then Devine would be gone next year. If he is that impatient and unwilling to battle for his spot/carries then it is best he leaves now so the ones who are committed get the reps in practice and the carries in the games. The other JUCO RB we have coming next year looks D1 ready (was once at Georgia Tech) so I think we will be alright this season without Bell as long as Mo and Wyatt can stay healthy. We also haven't seen what Miles Jones can do...

Suppose every team has turnover issues when a new coach comes in. Does anyone know if Frost cleaned house like this at UCF?

I don't know but there was an article recently that said the turnover is happening here faster than expected. Will see if I can find it

I wonder who's in these guys ears telling them to use the new 4 game redshirt rule. I hope that these people have the kids' best interests at heart.

I know, just curious about overall turnover.

Guessing some of these guys were brought in under haste though - trying to fill a class at the last minute.
Could be. That's 4 guys that either didn't make it to campus or have left from his first recruiting class.

The Nebraska football team has lost their second player to the four-game redshirt rule this week.

Junior college transfer running back Greg Bell has left the team a source has confirmed to HuskerOnline. Nebraska would not confirm the news yet on Friday as they get ready to leave for Madison.

After winning the starting running back job in August, Bell was surpassed by veteran Devine Ozigbo this week as the Huskers get ready to head to Wisconsin. A source tells HuskerOnline that Bell did not take the news well that Ozigbo would be starting this weekend in Madison.

Bell saw just two carries for 2 yards against Purdue, and this came on the heels after he also struggled the week before at Michigan. On the season, Bell had 173 yards on 35 carries over four games. Meanwhile, Ozigbo had a career day against the Boilermaker with 170 yards on 17 carries.

True freshman Maurice Washington also missed this past week's game vs. Purdue, but is expected to play a factor against Michigan after running very well in NU's first two games of the season.

Bell was the No. 1 ranked junior college running back in the country for the class of 2018, and a two-time NJCAA All-American at Arizona Western. He had three years to play two when he arrived at Nebraska, but it's unknown what his plans are going forward.

Bell joins sophomore wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey as the other player the Huskers lost this week to take advantage of the four-game redshirt rule. Like Lindsey, Bell also originally resides from California.

This is sad. Another top talent leaving the team. It looks to me as if they have adopted a pro team attitude at NU. Competition determines everything and walk if you don't like it. Where is the support system. If this guy was moping around for a week or so, teammates and coaches should have reminded him that he is a key member of this team and helped him work his way through it. This is what happens when the players start thinking they are just a number.

It sounds like you’re making a big assumption that those steps weren’t taken. What’s your thought process behind that?

Do you know that no one tried to pick the kid up? I hate to see him go but I will not say no one noticed and tried to help.

So is this going to be your montra from now on with Frost? Just asking so I know whether to block you or not. And which former All-American led you to this conclusion today?

Once again, you are making assumptions to fit your own narrative. How do you know they haven't reminded him how valuable he is every day? Is it possible that they did, and he still said "No Thanks"? Do you think that every single player should stay, and if not, it's an epic fail by the coaching staff? And, what exactly is a "pro team attitude"?

Who is the better back? Who is better in practice? Who needs their hand held and crying towel

Yeah...weren't you just saying that no one knows if someone was giving 100% effort so shouldn't say anything about it...but now you're saying you know for facts that no one tried to get a player to stay so you can rail on about it? one or the other man, you're either a troll or your bias is showing.
