117 Votes

Nope...not if there are a 120 or so to be had. But if there are 500 votes...well....

The Indiana game will remove any doubt.
It's all relative to me. Our number of votes cast is increasing every week. I'm good with it. I don't know how many are cast and don't particularly care. Just watching the number increase.

I don't trust any polls, for any sport, that depends on the "objectivity" of HUMANS that votes in these polls.

Or the "Commercial Sponsorships and Stewards" of Conferences that put their $0.02 of "influence" into the mix.

The best "poll?"...holding the Trophy after the last second has ticked off, or the clinching point of a NC match.

Polls mean diddly...they're fodder for people to mull over.

this is a bullshit poll... We are better than or at least as good as any of these >
I shook my head and thought the same thing, Blatz.

Having spent decades with our Huskers ALWAYS being ranked in the Top 25 (and usually in the top ten), the idea of those teams being ranked ahead of us when we're undefeated after FIVE games, is (to me) utterly mindboggling. (But I've gotta come to grips with the fact that most AP voters weren't even born in the 70s, 80s, or 90s.) :sad0020:

But -- fortunately -- the polls mean diddily-squat anymore.

If we win - we'll be ranked. If we play a close game that ends up a loss.....we could be ranked. If we get blown out.....we won't be ranked - same as we are right now.

I agree, Jim. Don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way but the two most meaningless takes about upsetting the defending national champs this Saturday are:
  1. If we win, we'll be ranked; and
  2. If we win, we'll become bowl eligible.
Those are OLD fan takes for RECENT Nebraska teams.

Take a tip from this Old Timer: When we win, we fans need to 'up' our game. :yay:

Polls don't interest me but I'm going to make a prediction. If the Huskers cover the spread (currently 7.5), even if they lose, I think they get ranked next week. The college football world wants to see if the Huskers are for reelz against legit competition before crowning their ass.

I just hope everyone has fun at Saturday's game - on both teams. This is the type of fun I hope to see:

and...if we become bowl eligible, then with one more win we won't have to settle for the Pinstripe Bowl....even though it WAS FUN to see the grass-stained, overcast, muddy field of play.
