Won - Loss record doesn’t tell the health of a program

I agree Stallings was a pretty good coach. However, between Bear and Saban they had about 25 years of mostly mediocre to bad football. Several of those seasons were below 500 ball.

Ah, it does seem that every story has two sides.

Won - Loss record doesn’t tell the health of a program

To me it seems like NU is going through the same type of problems that Alabama had after Bear retired. They suffered through a half dozen coaches before they brought in Sabin. I think NU may have finally found its Sabin. I like what he is doing and think he will put the program back on the...

    Transfer Tourists?

The truth is it is just much easier to transfer now. Just throw your name into a pool and see who contacts you. They also hear about guys who they may feel are inferior to them making huge paychecks. It is like free agency every year. Some players just throw their name out every year and see...

Happy Husker 250th Fourth of July

It's all a matter of perspective. I used to be at work around 5:30, now when I get up around 7, it feels like I am sleeping in.

RB Nothing to see here ! ( for ATX )

If he doesn't come back, it is next man up. Just like any other position. There are four other RBs on the roster and it looks like a talented group.

Which Position Group is Strongest and Weakest for HUSKERS?

Big and nasty are the two words I want to here when referring to our line this season.

RB Nothing to see here ! ( for ATX )

Most of us are from the generation where men took pride in being gentlemen and ladies were ladies, so we have little tolerance for violence against women. However, in today's generation women are much more violent and prone to physical conflict. I've seen several instances where a girl will...

The Elephant and 500 lb. Gorilla in the Room

Low ranking!!! I can't believe it. Don't they know we invented the McRib and that the N on the helmet stands for Nowledge.

    Where are they now

I don't know. Nearly all this board was all in on Frost.:):)

    2026 Schedule

So true. NU's administration was set on running our program on the cheap. Until Frost, they were unwilling to kick out the money necessary to fund a primer program. They allowed the program to sink to depths where coming back became a long-term project. Much of Osborne's success was not...

    2026 Schedule

I guess Tom Osborne would be a prime example of this. Fact is good coaches don't chase fads. They may adopt some of what another coach does if it fits their system. They also know that fads don't last. Some smart coach will figure out how to counter it and then everyone will adapt.

The Elephant and 500 lb. Gorilla in the Room

This is a different universe. For the school to finish so high despite the lousy ranking the football team got is amazing. If the football team can pull it together, NU could easily be a top 10 in the director's cup.

Which Position Group is Strongest and Weakest for HUSKERS?

There are a lot of new faces in the position groups. Making rating the groups hard for me to do. However, what I have noticed is that NU has gotten better every year under Rhule. From what I am seeing, I think this will continue this year. The good thing about this is, that if you keep...

HUSKERS not getting a lot of love

For many years now NU has underperformed. At least in the minds of NU fans. They have lost the one score games. They have choked when the game was on the line. Some of it has been lack of talent, some of it has been poor coaching, but mostly it is due to attitude. We need to get back to a...

    Let's Talk Rhule's RESET

It seems to me that Rhule has been on a constant reset since he has been here. First, I think coming from the pros hurt him. Pro coaches are not the same as college coaches. They have different skill sets and responsibilities. Several of his initial coaching picks did not pan out. Second, I...

    Huskers Rhule

Pelini set a couple of records as a DC. The all-time NCAA rushing record was set by Wisconsin against his NU squad. The all-time SEC passing record was set against his LSU team. Pelini did well if he had personnel who fit his schemes. He was unable to adapt when the players were unable to...

    Huskers Rhule

Bo was built for the Big12. He knew how to defend the pass. The Big 10's running game was his demise. Not to mention, he was such a dick, no worthwhile coach would work for him.
