Tony White gone?

FWIW, I think White benefited biggly from the DL he inherited. Despite all the current fan grousing in general, I think Aurich is the kind of DC we needed all along.
To be fair to Tony White he got FSU's D on track in 2025 after a horrific start so the D finish in the Top 30 on total defense - dude can coach. The D lapsed back to poor play this year - similar to how they started 2025 for the first couple games. The why can be tough to figure out. Why can't Dana's offense show up in B1G play??
I think the writing was on the wall with Snow and Butler looking over his shoulder, I don't think he really had a choice to stay. Knighton on the other hand did have that luxury but I think he was trying to take advantage of the situation and get a promotion (had heard he wanted to be the DC which is a bit ludicrous considering his lack of experience at that level). Will be interesting to see if White, Cooper and Knighton continue to stay connected at the hip moving forward.
I seriously doubt it. They might become a band again if White ever gets offered a HC job. What really did surprise me is that White got fired instead of playing out the season. It was understandable with Chinander because he and Frost were tied at the hip---but why get rid of White NOW?
I also thought it was a bit bizarre to have their Director of Scouting named interim HC instead of one of the coordinators---especially since the OC has a notable career as a HC. These moves tell me there's a lot of internal drama going on there.
