I'm no mechanic like PD, but I'll give it a shot too. Nebraskans are fiscally conservative by nature. So our Big Money People are reluctant to 'play the game' the way Oregon, Ohio State, LSU, and CFB's other biggest NIL spenders. It's frustrating Rhule who wants to bring in (and keep) the best.

The problem is these "feelers" is that they always come from people not associated with the program so the school can claim official deniability. SEC schools have a lot of experience with this approach--going back to the pre-NIL days.

How many of our current coaches and players were around here when this streak started? We had some dropped balls and made some bad mistakes (yes, YOU Archie) that contributed to the loss but anybody who wants to claim the team 'choked' down the stretch didn't watch the same game I did.
