Damn, the board is kind of dead after a decent showing by the Huskers in the second half. I honestly think losing gets more activity on fan forums than winning does.
It wasn't pretty but it was a W. Covered the points. Won the rushing game. Won the passing game. Defense needs some work. Way too many dropped passes. Way too many penalties. But I'll take the win.
First half, it looked like another case of SSDD and I started seriously questioning HCMRh's ability as a Head Coach. Second half was great, not TO great but great. As pointed out, Ohio did win 9 games last year. When is the last time NU can say that?
AC is a gunslinger! There were plenty of balls a D1 receiver should catch. The heat and humidity may have had something to do with it. I saw more completions downfield over the middle of over15 yards in one game than I saw the last 2 years. (Obligatory DR putdown) He puts the ball out there with some zip on it.
Our DL has dead hands. They still do not get the separation to get a pass rush or to stop the run.
I do not miss DR at QB. He might miss NU more than we miss him.
Agree 100%. The little things make a difference. I mentioned in chat there was a play where Ant was being pressured and he alluded the rush, ran left, and got out of bounds right at the line of scrimmage. 2nd and 10 instead of 2nd and 21 with Raiola crumbling in the pocket. AC is going to help us with down and distance all season long with his mobility.
Despite the elevated temperatures, AC kept it cool out there all day.
