Frost Warning in Iowa

Even if they do hire Frost it is going to take him a recruiting cycle or two in order to get the type of players he wants for his system. You can't go from an old school Iowa offense to an Oregon-like offense overnight. I hope he is not counting on getting a lot of love from Nebraska HS coaches, he didn't seem to value them when he was in Lincoln and I am sure they remember that fact and won't be welcoming him into their schools with open arms.
Iowa City doesn't seem like the best place to test your sobriety.
Honestly I'd think he could do better than Iowa with Ferentz having to be near retirement? Would be a weird move for both parties.
I'm highly skeptical of this story. If Frost was going to get back into coaching as an OC, wouldn't he be targeting one of the high-flying teams on either coast?
Big Ten defenses were his downfall. Would he really try to revive his coaching career taking over IOWA's offense??!? I think not.

If he turns that offense around he might be in line for the head gig when Ferentz retires.
Iowa is bad enough and we play them every year. Him knowingly coaching for the enemy? Yeah he'd be a traitor.
Who is this Scott Frost character everyone is referring to?
I don't know if it will happen, but it might not be as bizarre as it seems initially. For one thing I've always felt there was a liking between Ferentz and Frost. Even Brian toned down his husker bashing when Scott took over here.
Having said that, I think it would be a mistake for him to take that job. His offense doesn't cut Iowa's way. For all the talk of meshing power with open field play, it never blended very well. The reasons have been talked to death, but in the end, he had to own it. Imo if he is ever to be successful, he needs to create an identity and recruit/develop to it. Iowa has an identity, and it isn't what Scott seems to want to run.

I'd be shocked if he left AZ. His wife is where she wants to be and will not move again. So unless he gets a job at ASU he's probably not coaching anytime soon.

During the 2004 and 2005 NFL seasons, Philbin added the role of tight ends coach before assuming the full-time role as Green Bay offensive line coach in 2006. Then, while serving as the Packers’ offensive coordinator from 2007-11, Philbin helped quarterback Aaron Rodgers bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay to cap the 2010 season.

Great, no more Frost Warnings are necessary, IMO. Loved him as a player, lost most of my respect for him during his tenure as HC of DONU.
