Who still has confidence in this staff?

We've had such below average play at the QB position, except in spurts, since 2011. That's a long time for the most important position on the field.

Start recruiting Nebraska hogs again for OL, stop throwing that Effing sideline pass, get rid of Chins, find more Diedrick size RBs, teach Martinez to take off after 2 secs, and we might win 6 next year

I see,as well as know, our STs suck. It's fact STs tell you alot about team depth
We don't have any.
Two ko's returned for a td? In three games?

I know our coach has had the big C, I will cut him slack, but the rest is just depth.
Two plays, two losses.

We need two more backers, one more D lineman, better qb play, and we are miles from what we are now,add in two wrs.
Look no further than your tv, as the announcers made their lists, and yes, those opponents players made alot of plays, but, look who else showed up?
Now, take our list, now, name players, multiple players, that make 'those' plays.
We've been stuck in Barney rifle Fyfe mode for a long time, where losing Nate Gerry cost us the iowa game, with only a handful of decent to good players.
If we don't change this,we can't.

Today was the watershed day for me the same as Riley and Pelini before him. He’s not going anywhere but he’s not qualified to be coach of the Huskers.

This wasn’t on the players, it was on Frost.

Right after McCaffrey threw that TD, SF shoulda kept him in, because at least Luke grabs it and goes. To AM's credit, he tries to make a play bless his heart, but it's usually to the detriment to the drive

You know what I don't get? Adrian Martinez is 220 pounds and yet he runs like he's 98 pounds.

I am scratching my head trying to remember a player that weighed 220 pounds who was as soft as Adrian Martinez.

How in God's name do you start as a non-punter for Nebraska and look like some of these players. Martinez looks like a guy who has never lifted a weight in his life. And the defensive line? How can you be a college athlete and be that fat?

My biggest problem in college wrestling heavyweight was that I couldn't keep weight on because I burned so many calories in practice. And I ate absolutely everything.

And somehow Darrion Daniels looks like a reject from fat camp?

Today's player and clock management was the end. It just amazes me that Scott Frost showed me he's a failure as a hire faster than Mike Riley.

My kid's bearded dragon could have coached more games without miserably failing and he/she doesn't speak.

Those are questions I don't have any answers for.

One more season like this they will get rid of him no matter how long his contract says
I think he will still get 2 more years; though it's possible that it will only be one more year. We are 5-7 only because we beat a horrible Maryland team. That doesn't much seem like progress at this point.

I would like Frost to be the answer but his hard headedness and egotism are definitely a problem.

We lost 6 out of 8 games to end the miserable season.

Nebraska forced Iowa three and out for a loss of 7 yards on the next drive and Martinez was QB for the ensuing possession that went 60 yards for a TD on 13 plays. Nebraska's next possessions started at their own 9, 2 and 20 yard line but that last one started with a false start by Austin Allen to pretty much screw it up. People freaked out when Bo Pelini put Cody Green in as a freshman whenever Nebraska was pinned deep in their own territory, so coaches can't really win.

The whole thing is...

McCaffrey has made plays, we know he has skill and can contribute now...

The staff should have used him in the game plan for this game...

Luke had a game to play and keep his redshirt...

Iowa would have had to make the adjustment...

get the best guys on the field...

there was nothing to lose, and a bowl game to gain... go for it Scott!

Should HCSF have a QB battle in Spring & Fall camp start AM2 and he still plays like he did this season he will lose the NEBRASKA faithful.

I have no concerns. Coaches will either go on their own or get fired eventually - coordinators, head coaches, or position coaches. That is college football. What I do hope happens is that Frost is able to keep the best assistants for as many years as possible. Fisher is damn good, for example.

I want to see what the coaches are able to do with the freshman that redshirted through their sennior year and the talent that comes after them. basically a full class to graduation and then evaluate things.

I'm in no hurry to win the Big Ten tomorrow. I want long-term stability and major success that can be sustained. Immediate success is not always healthy. Look at Texas. They struggled, won majority last season, and this year firing all of the coaches.

I want a staff that builds this program with a strong foundation and can be replicated season after season. That doesn't happen without coaches staying together and building what they create from their first full class and forward.

Yeah regardless of it being year two or not, the coaches were forced to throw a redshirt freshman TE at center, that's a microcosm of the complete roster imbalance that existed when they arrived, and it has not been completely smoothed out yet. The margin for error was slim, there were not ready replacements for Ozigbo and Morgan, again through no fault of the current staff. Injuries to place kickers resulting in about 5 or 6 different guys attempting field goals this year and scouring campus for warm bodies is not even the fault of Mike Riley, that's just weird and a total fluke.

Linebackers suck though, that needs to get fixed fast. The rest of the defense suffers because of it. Not ready to throw the defensive assistants under the bus yet but they need a John Blake-esque recruiter :o

WR and linebacker. Those are the issues. Fix that and this team will win a lot of games. We will finish the season in top 3 in rushing offense and that is with a RB that left the team and only one guy (Mills) to go with Wandale.

SIgn some good 2020 WR"s and this offense takes off bigly.

My confidence isn't as shaken as Frost was in the 4th quarter when the cameras were on him. Not sure if he was cold, nervous, or the job is getting to him. Felt bad for him.

For me at this point, confidence, or lack of, is a rather moot point. This is who we have for some time. Scott is going to get every opportunity, and then some, to prove himself. We've seen that you can trade down.....no matter how bad it might appear at first sight. Moos made his statement a short time ago when he gave the extension. Nebraska will live with what we have for some time. There is something to say for continuity, as long as you have a coach who isn't blinded by hubris, and is willing to evaluate and adapt. I've waited for a couple of decades so a couple of years won't kill me. I guess I'm pretty much in aztonik's camp. Let it play out for another year or two and see what happens.

Next year is going to be very telling. Scott has pretty much used up his honeymoon now so from here on out results will be at a premium. Scott has wished his players would show a sense of urgency. I'm betting he will want the same from his staff next year as well.

Results.
Even next year, we're a young team, but,we need results. Not only the 5-7 record, this feels alot like MRs 5-7 year, climbing, but as we saw,in the end, weak talking the next year, even at 9 wins.

Nothing in that 5-7 year, and even our small success showed confidence going forwards beyond that. We had good recievers coming back, no one to run the ball, a TE that may or may not have been really good, but we did have some D linemen, but only a few good ones.
The big take awat from those times? A reciever who quit us twice, another whose dad or mom or whomever gets a job at louisville who quits us, some rb Stevensen with a gut hyped until we saw him, really?
Oh, but were still paying for that circus, and all the clowns who follwed MR to osu west, still paying for that too.
We need players, and SF needs time.

Frost is going to get the time. Moos made that abundently clear when Frost's contract extension was announced. If we do not see a marked improvement next season, I am going to be extremely concerned because Frost will have 3 recruiting cycles under his belt -- more than enough time to have recruited players.

Frost and staff are young coaches. I'm hoping they spend some of the off season reflecting on changes they need to make as coaches to improve our program. If they don't, nothing is going to change. I want Frost to succeed here; in order for that to happen, Frost needs to make some changes within himself. As well as needing time and players. Just my opinion.
